Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics a long-standing tradition

The North Bay Police Service hosted the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) in support of Special Olympics on Tuesday morning.

Officials say it’s a long-standing tradition for the police service with law enforcement officers from six agencies taking part this year.

They were joined by two local Special Olympics groups for the walk/run event and a private barbecue afterwards.

“LETR for Special Olympics is one of the largest charity organizations in the world, raising over one billion dollars since its inception in 1983,” states a release from city police. “Ontario’s chapter of LETR is a world leader.”

Officials add Special Olympics Ontario is dedicated to enriching the lives of those with an intellectual disability through sport.
