Humane society receives goods from transport crash

There’s a silver lining to last Thursday’s transport crash on Highway 11 in Callander.

Some of the load that spilled has been donated to the North Bay and District Humane Society.

“Goods from the truck like paper towels and pet food were graciously donated to the North Bay Humane Society and we are so grateful that some good could come from what is an unfortunate accident,” states a post on social media.

Officials are thanking the towing and transport companies involved in the clean-up and recovery of the goods.

They say the animals in their care and the pet food bank will benefit from the donation.

There were no injuries in last Thursday’s crash.
