Council will be voting Tuesday night to invite the community and recreation centre’s project developer to provide an update at a future special committee meeting.
A report from CAO John Severino says since council awarded the $2.6 million contract to EllisDon, the project team has completed detailed geotechnical investigations and established building siting for the project.
“Due to the nature and scope of the project a Special Committee Meeting of Council will be scheduled to allow for sufficient time for the Project Team to update Council on its progress,” states the CAO’s report.
Severino adds the development of building concepts has progressed to the stage that has allowed for an opinion on probable costs.
Preferred siting, preliminary footprint, building elevations and more have been identified – with conceptual drawings created.
Details on the project’s preliminary designs, schedule, programming and more will also be shared at that future meeting.
