École Secondaire Catholique Algonquin won the senior final of the Green and Gold Classic basketball tournament with a 77-73 victory over Sudbury’s LaSalle.
The Barons’ Tristan Landriault was named MVP.
“Landriault delivered a stellar performance with his impactful defense, while scoring 27 points and earning the Senior Division MVP title,” states a release.
Espanola High School (pictured below) won the junior final over LaSalle.
The Spartans’ Liam Houle was named junior MVP, contributing 16 points to his team’s win.
“St. Joseph-Scollard Hall’s successful hosting of the tournament underscores North Bay’s dedication to fostering youth athletics and community engagement,” organizers say in a release. “The event left fans eagerly anticipating next year’s action-packed competition.”
Eight junior and eight senior teams from across the region competed, including schools in North Bay, Sudbury, Espanola and Sault Ste Marie.
