The North Bay Police Service is investigating damage to hundreds of tires over the last year and a half.
Police say 11 incidents (listed below) have happened all over the city, from Lee Park to Gormanville Road, various downtown locations and more.
They date back to August 2023, with the latest incident this past December.
Police say there is no description of the potential suspects available.
“This damage to property has been occurring since late 2023 and appears to be escalating in frequency, which is concerning,” says Jeff Warner, Inspector of Operations with the North Bay Police Service. “Our officers are working diligently to investigate these occurrences and are proactively patrolling potential target areas throughout the city. I am confident that with the assistance of the public, we will be able to identify, locate, and arrest the person or persons responsible.”
Timeline of occurences:
· In August 2023, the tires on multiple vehicles in the area of Lee Park were damaged.
· Twenty-two (22) tires were damaged on vehicles belonging to a business in the 100-block of Worthington Street East in December 2023
· In April 2024, two (2) vehicles had their tires damaged at a business in the 500-block of Oak Street East.
· In August 2024, four (4) vehicles had their tires damages in the 200-block of Oak Street East.
· Eight (8) vehicles had their tires damaged at a business in the 100-block of McIntyre Street East in September 2024.
· In September 2024, five (5) vehicles had their tires damaged at a business in the 500-block of Oak Street East.
· Multiple vehicles had their tires damaged in the area of Monk Street in October 2024.
· In October 2024, multiple vehicles had their tires damaged in the area of Lee Park.
· Fifty-six (56) tires were damaged on vehicles at a business in the 600-block of Gormanville Road in December 2024.
· In December 2024, two (2) vehicles had their tires damaged in the 100-block of Chippewa Street West.
· In December, 2024, twenty-four (24) tires were damaged on vehicles in a parking lot on McIntyre Street between Sherbrooke Street and Wyld Street.
