Collaboration supporting Niska Non-Profit Homes

Niska Non-Profit Homes will continue to provide safe, affordable housing.

It’s thanks to a new collaboration with the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) and Nipissing District Housing Corporation (NDHC).

They’re supporting Niska’s 22 stacked townhouse units, with housing corporation board members to act as Niska board members.

During the first meeting of the newly constituted Niska Board on March 26, key leadership appointments were finalized to guide the organization forward.

South Algonquin Mayor Ethel LaValley was appointed president and Nipissing north and south representative Amanda Smith was appointed as vice president.

“By aligning the expertise and resources of DNSSAB and NDHC, we are confident that Niska will continue to provide quality housing support for its residents,” says LaValley.

Efforts moving forward will focus on implementing positive changes to ensure the long-term sustainability of Niska’s operations.
