Program offering free alarms continues to be rolled out

North Bay Fire & Emergency Services is still looking for homeowners in need of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

As a part of Safe Community Project Zero, developed by the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council and Enbridge Gas, they received 250 combination alarms.

The program provides free smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to those who need them most, including:

  • Seniors
  • People living alone
  • Those with disabilities
  • Families facing financial challenges

Fire officials say they will visit, assess, and ensure proper installation at no cost.

Rental properties are not eligible for the program, which was announced in early December.
