A sentencing hearing for former North Bay Nugget employee Ken Pagan is beginning today. Pagan admitted to throwing a beer can onto the field during a Toronto Blue Jays playoff game against the Baltimore Orioles last fall.
Pagan was originally charged with mischief on October 6th, two days after the playoff game. He pleaded guilty on May 30th to mischief under $5,000 in connection with the incident. Pagan’s lawyer Tyler Smith has said that submissions will be made, and Pagan will be present in court. It’s not clear if the judge will rule on the case today.
