A 25-year-old North Bay has been arrested after forcing himself into a home and started assaulting the homeowner on Monday morning. According to police, the man, who was unknown to the victim, forced his way into a residence on Dorothy Street and while family locked themselves in the residence and contacted police he beat the owner.
Police responded quickly, only to have the man start assaulting the officers who were trying to arrest him. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The man is facing charges of break and enter, assault causing bodily harm, assaulting police and breach of probation. He was released from custody, and is scheduled to appear in court on August 22nd.
