Jerry O’Connell nominated for Canadian Screen Award

Two things we learned today.

  1. You can win a Canadian Screen Award even if you are an “Honourary Canadian,” but you have to spell that with a “u.”
  2. Carter is a drama.

North Bay favourite Jerry O’Connell has earned a nomination in the Best Lead Actor, Drama category for his work on the locally-filmed Carter and he’s up against some stiff competition.

The 7th annual Canadian Screen Awards will be held on March 31. The awards honour achievements in Canadian film, television, and digital media production in 2018.

Best Lead Actor, Drama:

Kim Coates, “Bad Blood”
Jerry O’Connell, “Carter”
Aaron Ashmore, “Killjoys”
Yannick Bisson, “Murdoch Mysteries”
Eric McCormack, “Travelers”

O’Connell and the cast and crew of Carter will be back in North Bay to shoot season two this spring.
