Six non-restricted firearms have been reported stolen after a homeowner returned home after an absence of several days to find their residence had been entered.
The RCMP classifies a non-restricted firearm as “any rifle or shotgun that is neither restricted nor prohibited. Most common long guns are non-restricted, but there are exceptions.”
Upon returning home, the victim noted the rear door of the residence was not secure.
The North Bay Police Service responded Sunday to investigate at a home in the 1200 block of Northshore Road in North Bay.
Police determined that entry had been gained and the six non-restricted firearms were missing.
The North Bay Forensic Identification Unit is assisting with this on-going investigation.
