NBPS: Homeowner confronts, helps capture intruder

The North Bay Police Service says shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, a 39-year-old North Bay man was discovered inside a residence in the 100 block of King Street West.

The accused was confronted by the homeowner and contained at that location until the arrival of police, who took the man into police custody. Police report the same man was earlier observed on a residential property in the Olive Street area of North Bay at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday. NBPS says the man had been looking through the windows of the home and left when confronted by an occupant.

The 39-year-old North Bay man has been charged with:

  • One count of Break and Enter
  • Two counts of Trespassing at Night
  • One count of Voyeurism
  • Two Counts of Breach of Probation

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing today at the North Bay Courthouse and police continue their investigation. Anyone with information that may assist police with this investigation is asked to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer. Constable Malden is the investigating officer.
