MNRF urges caution around water

If you spend time near the waterways this weekend, do so carefully.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry issued a Watershed Conditions Statement saying residents should exercise “special caution” around the North Bay area’s bodies of water.

“Continued warm temperatures along with forecasted precipitation throughout the district is expected to increase melting, resulting in increased runoff and increased levels and flows,” the ministry states. “Please alert and monitor any children under your care to these possible dangers and supervise their activities.”

No flooding is anticipated based on the current conditions.

The warning is in effect until March 29.
