Both a 22 and 16-year-old are facing charges after an incident at the Highway 11/17 bypass last Sunday.
North Bay OPP says a vehicle fled from police after they attempted to stop it on Seymour Street. Officers chose not to pursue the vehicle due to a large amount of traffic and pedestrians in the area.
Police then saw the Audi station wagon run through a red light at the bypass, bumping another pickup truck. They say the truck then began following the Audi.
Police pulled over the pickup truck while the Audi ran another red light at Algonquin and Airport Road where it struck another vehicle, with the driver suffering minor injuries.
The two occupants of the Audi then attempted to flee on foot.
Police arrested one of them at the scene and found the other a short time later on Cartier Avenue.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a prohibited bladed machete-style weapon, numerous pieces of suspected stolen construction equipment from St. Catherine’s, Ontario, and stolen licence plates.
