An informal ‘Main Street Poll’ has been set up by a local business for the federal election.
A board where passersby can indicate their support is set up outside Brainstorm Productions on the 100 block of Main East.
Manager Greg Gray says it’s all for fun and to start a conversation.
“Stopping and talking with people about the election, trying to get an interest. About 25 percent of the people I see out here don’t even know there’s an election going on,” he says.
Gray says they’ll be keeping track of the results.
“I’m just going to provide polling information as it comes out and have a little bit of fun and engage people in conversations,” he adds.
Gray says the election is important to him.
“I’m at a point in my life where I’m on a pension and working at the same time so I’d like to see some better results for seniors,” he says. “We seem to be the forgotten people in the process.”
The informal poll will be set up Wednesday through Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm.
