Ed Valenti sworn in as a North Bay councillor

North Bay city council officially has a new member.

Ed Valenti took the oath of office Tuesday night after being appointed to council.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to be a member of council and to be able to bring some benefits and support to the City of North Bay.  I look forward to the next year on council,” he said after being sworn in.

Mayor Al McDonald offered congratulations and welcomed Valenti.

“We have a tremendous council and a tremendous staff here at the city.  We do it because we love our city and we always want to move the city forward.  I think you’re going to be a great addition to this council, you’ve been very active in our community,” he says.

Valenti was then appointed to the various city committees along with a couple of the agencies, boards and commissions.

They include North Bay Hydro Holdings Ltd and the Public Arts Advisory Committee.

Valenti finished 12th in the 2018 municipal election.

He takes over the seat left vacant by the resignation of Marcus Tignanelli, who joined the city’s Economic Development team.
