Friday, Nov. 3 is Junior Lakers Day in North Bay.
A full house of 4,000-plus hockey players, families and friends will be watching the Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team play Ontario Tech at Memorial Gardens.
The city made the declaration to help the North Bay and District Girls Hockey program celebrate its 25th anniversary.
They’re also welcoming 72 teams to their weekend tournament.
Games are being played at all four rinks in North Bay, along with Powassan (Friday and Sunday) and Astorville (Friday).
Spectators are welcome.
Also on Friday, the university’s team will be announcing six local Jr. Lakers as future commits to the program.
Four players will be signing Letters of Intent, while two will be making verbal commitments for future years.
