A family of five is being displaced just before the holidays.
That’s according to the North Bay Fire and Emergency Services, who says firefighters from all three stations responded to a structure fire on Metcalfe Street yesterday evening (Dec. 13) around 7:00 p.m.
Deputy Chief Greg Saunders there were no residents home at the time, but three dogs succumbed to the smoke.
He says crews extinguished the fire around 10:00 p.m., with the home suffering significant damage.
He says the family of five will be displaced for a significant period of time, adding the cause of the fire is not suspicious and remains under investigation.
