Villeneuve nominated as federal Conservatives’ candidate

Conservatives in Nipissing-Timiskaming have opted for change with their candidate in the next federal election.

Cassidy Villeneuve won the nomination on the weekend, defeating Steven Trahan, who ran for the party in the last general election.

Villeneuve has worked for several Conservative MPs on Parliament Hill, including as Chief of Staff for the Conservative Shadow Minister of Public Safety.

On social media, Villeneuve said Northern Ontario’s voice in Ottawa is nothing but a whisper, adding that will change the second she wins the next election.

Canadians will head to the polls on or before Oct. 20, 2025.
