Hummel Bridge to close to vehicular traffic

As of Friday, 9:00 a.m., the Hummel Bridge, a boundary bridge between the Township of Nipissing and the Municipality of Powassan, will be closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.

That’s according to the Township of Nipissing, which shares HP Engineering performed an inspection on the bridge on May 22, 2024, and it resulted in the recommendation to close it to vehicle traffic. Pedestrians are still allowed to use it.

Officials say all public service partners including OPP, EMS, School Bus Transportation, Ministry of Transportation and residents directly impacted by the closure have been notified.
