A person from Saskatchewan has been charged 21 times after an OPP investigation into a historical sexual assault.
That’s according to the OPP who says in October of 2023, North Bay OPP began a joint investigation with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) of British Columbia regarding a historical sexual assaults that occurred between 1999 and 2003, in East Mills and Hardy Townships.
Officials say a Canada Wide Warrant was issued for the arrest of the accused, and on May 20, 2024, the Rose Valley RCMP in Saskatchewan located and arrested them.
They were returned to Ontario on May 24.
A 72-year-old, from Lintlaw, Saskatchewan, was charged with:
- Sexual Assault (five counts)
- Exposure to a person under 14 (six counts)
- Incest (two counts)
- Invitation to sexual touching (five counts)
- Sexual Interference (three counts)
The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice.
The OPP will not release the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim and witnesses involved.
