Curling bonspiel supporting the humane society

The North Bay and District Humane Society is once again ‘Curling for Kibble’ this year.

The third annual bonspiel takes place on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the North Bay Granite Club.

Officials say the fundraising goal is $10,000 to help off-set the cost of the more than 20,000 lbs of food and 25,000 lbs of litter used by the shelter every year.

“Playing in our Curling for Kibble bonspiel directly supports animals in our care,” says Liam Cullin, Executive Director of the humane society. “Our shelter takes in over a thousand animals annually. Fundraisers like Curling for Kibble help ensure that the dogs or cats in our care get all the support they need to find loving forever homes.”

The one-day tournament offers curlers a two-game guarantee as well as food, entertainment and more.

Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome.

The cost to play is $65 per person with registration open at www.nbdhs.ca/curling.
