Local ringette players win silver at provincials

The West Ferris 63s U14A ringette team (pictured above) won silver at the Ringette Ontario Provincial A Championship last weekend in Sault Ste. Marie.

After securing a 5-1 semifinal win over a team from Mitchell that they lost to in the round robin, the 63s faced an undefeated team from Forest in the final.

Forest won that game 5-1.

Team officials say the West Ferris 63s, however, were proud to take home the silver medal adding the team worked incredibly hard, with a high amount of sportsmanship and perseverance to finish out their season.

Meantime, four long-time West Ferris Ringette players (pictured below) won silver with the Greater Sudbury 18+ team at the provincial A championship in the Soo.

Olivia Parker, Kaitlin Pace, Bobbie-Ann McCulloch and Alex Parker play for the Sudbury Open team, which includes players from Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, North Bay and Thunder Bay.
