Tariffs, housing, affordability, law and order, immigration and more.
Those were some of the topics covered in Monday night’s federal candidates debate in Nipissing-Timiskaming.
Your TV North Bay and the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce hosted the event on TV and YouTube.
Conservative Garry Keller, the NDP’s Valerie Kennedy and the Liberal’s Pauline Rochefort took part.
They all offered up parts of their party’s platforms throughout the night with reoccurring themes from each.
Rochefort reiterated this election is about leadership, Keller says the Liberals already had 10 years to fix a variety of problems and Kennedy says they’d tax the rich.
The format provided for actual debate on several issues, with no real knockout punches delivered.
A statement was provided by the Green Party’s Louise Poitras and a video statement from the People’s Party of Canada’s John Janssen.
Advance polls are open this long weekend with election day on April 28.
