If you see an Interac e-transfer from the Canadian Revenue Agency, don’t accept it.
It’s just another scam that’s popping up in North Bay lately. This one involves an Interac e-transfer of $214.17.
The CRA will only send payments by direct deposit or cheque, never by e-transfer so residents should know right away this is a scam.
A few residents have reported receiving these transfers recently, and this tax scam is also happening via email, mail, and text.
