NBRHC receiving provincial funding for repairs

The provincial government has announced $217,234 is funding to the North Bay Regional Health Centre for repairs and upgrades. West Nipissing General Hospital will be receiving $476,485. The funding is part of more than $9.7-million that the Northeast Local Health Integration Network has received from the Province of Ontario.

The two local hospitals are part of 20 hospitals through the Northeast LHIN receiving a share of the Health Infrastructure Renewal funding according to a release on Tuesday. The release goes on to say funding from the province allows hospitals to make critical improvements to their facilities, including upgrades or replacements to roofs, windows, heating and air conditioning systems, fire alarms and back-up generators.

Health Minister Eric Hoskins says these repairs and upgrades are crucial to ensuring all patients get the help they need now and in the future. Hoskins added by upgrading their hospitals’ infrastructure, they’re helping Ontarians get the best health care close to home.
