For those looking for an update on the blasting of rock near the intersection of Seymour and Highway 11/17, more is coming.
The contractor has advised the City of North Bay that the blasting and hammering will continue on the northbound lanes for the week of October 28. The work may cause lengthy delays.
To minimize the disruption to the traffic, the blasting and hammering will continue to take place between 9:00am and 3:00pm. The intersection will operate normally after those times. The contractor anticipates that the work will last until Thursday, and they will reassess at that time.
During this period, travelers are advised to anticipate adding times to their commute.
The City of North Bay, MTO and Contractor are aware of and appreciate the need to maintain traffic through the Hwy 11/17 and Seymour Street corridors but the necessary work must be completed responsibly and safely at all times.
