The North Bay Police Service has charged a 29-year old North Bay man after an alleged assault.
Officers responded to reports of a person being injured around 5:45 am Tuesday in the 100-block of First Avenue West.
Police say the victim and the accused, who are known to each other, were involved in an altercation.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries from an edged weapon and was taken to hospital for treatment.
It’s alleged the accused fled the scene.
Police say he was later identified using CCTV footage from the area.
A police search of a residence in the 100-block of Duke Street East resulted in the seizure of 104 methamphetamine tablets, approximately four grams of crystal methamphetamine and a quantity of Canadian currency.
A 29-year old North Bay man is facing several charges including:
- One count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- One count of Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- One count of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- One count of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
He remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
