Driver charged after commercial vehicle rollover on Highway 533

The North Bay OPP has charged an Alberta driver after a commercial vehicle hauling a trailer of pigs rolled over on Highway 533.

Police responded to the crash at 9:30 am on Sunday, August 2nd.

They say the driver was the only occupant and received no injuries.

The OPP reports the highway was closed in both directions for approximately three hours, to allow the removal of the vehicle from the ditch.

A 30-year-old person from Airdrie, Alberta has been charged with careless driving.

Police report the accused was served a Provincial Offence Notice, which carries a total fine of $490 and six demerit points.
