Nearly $11,000 is going towards the Bickle Fire Engine restoration project at the North Bay Museum.
The funding is coming from the Ontario Rural Economic Development (RED) program.
“The RED program supports projects with tangible benefits to rural and Indigenous communities that help to attract business and investment and create jobs, while also providing greater value for taxpayer dollars,” said Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing.
The Museum’s website says the 1928 fire engine was the second one purchased by the City of North Bay.
“Once the engine was retired from active service, it continued to be utilized in city parades and special events,” states the North Bay Museum website. “After the cosmetic restoration is complete, the engine will be on display in the North Bay Museum lower gallery.”
