Over 81,000 reasons to smile for the Humane Society

Over $81,000. That’s how much the community helped raise for the North Bay Humane Society during this year’s Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign.

Officials say the money will help “vulnerable companion animals live better lives through veterinary care, medicine, adoptions, physical rehabilitation, socialization and much more.”

This was the first year the funds from the campaign benefited the Humane Society.

“The response from the community has been tremendous,” says Liam Cullin, Executive Director. “Funds raised through the Smile Cookies will help thousands of injured, abandoned and vulnerable pets lead better lives so they can find forever homes. We are grateful to our local Tim Hortons stores for their support and encouragement during our first year of this campaign.”

Nationally, $18.8 million was raised for local charities and community groups during the campaign, which took place April 29 – May 5.
